For Mennonite Church Canada, the old days of "doing mission" are over. It believes relationships form communities of faith and are at the heart of building a global church, one of Mennonite Church Canada’s core priorities. But building the global church by developing relationships also touches on the remaining two priorities; forming a people of God and growing leaders for the church.

United Church says Census is critical

The United Church of Canada has added its voice to those protesting the government's recent decision to eliminate the mandatory long-form census. In a letter to Industry Minister Tony Clement, the church urged the government not to implement a voluntary system of collecting detailed census information. Rev. Bruce Gregersen, a General Council Officer says, "We see this as a step backward at a time when Canadians need access to reliable census information to help build a more equitable and just society."

Lutherans ask forgiveness officially

STUTTGART, Germany

In what the Rev. Mark S. Hanson described as possibly the most significant legacy this assembly will leave,the Eleventh Assembly of the Lutheran World Federation in Stuttgart, Germany took the historic step of asking the Mennonites for forgiveness for past persecutions.
